Description: 

The Library plays a leading role in the “Aegean Ark” pilot project for a virtual library in the Greek Archipelago funded by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology under the auspices of the University of the Aegean Library. The overall objective was to create a scale model for a network of prototype forms of organised storage for cultural-related documentation on or originating from the Greek Archipelago.


Description: 

The "DOLIHI" network is a cooperation of schools from small islands of the Aegean Sea. Schools of Oinousses, Agios Efstratios, Samothrace and Psara are members of this network. Other members of the network are: the Oinousses Cultural Center, the University of the Aegean, the “LEON LEMOS” Foundation and the Technognostiki Company. The program has been approved and it is being realized by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs within the frameworks of O.P. "Education" (Operational Program "Education and Primary Vocational Training").

Description: 

EQLIPSE (Evaluation and Quality in Library Performance System for Europe) is a research and development programme funded by the European Commission.

The aim of EQLIPSE is to define, develop and certify an open-source IT based system in order to support qualitative management and evaluation of the performance of all types of libraries.

EQLIPSE is based on “client-server” architecture and is compatible with automated library systems from different providers.

Description: 

Three university libraries joined forces to explore the delivery of electronic library services at a distance.

The Project was designed to explore, identify and improve the availability and accessibility to services provided by modern library services to users in remote areas of different Member States.

Having access and being able to use libraries and other services is a primary requirement to conduct university studies. Unfortunately, such services are not available most of the times in remote areas.
